Sharking In Japan Very Cruel

Cet obscur objet du désir. (That obscure object of desire). 1977.

Luis Buñuel

This is probably the film with the highest burden filmmaker caustic Aragon and despite the staggering depth , to say the least, of the dialogues employees. The script puts a natural counterbalance to all the acid black humor and questioning the basis of morality and all that encompasses such an ambiguous term (chastity, adultery, deceit, hypocrisy, interest ...).

The plot unfolds in a timeless and switch between different spaces and a passenger train. A subject a little more, Mathieu, tells his fellow travelers their trances suffered a very beautiful woman and much younger than him, Conchita, whom he met when he came home to work as a maid. The protagonist describes as unfortunate experiences in response to the inquiry, in which is involved in throwing water with a bucket, a woman who wanders down the hall quietly to the station (which frankly is absurd and totally out of place).

From the moment he saw her, Mathieu became interested in the young and never ceased to show interest she paid to flee whenever he could, but at the same time, revealing a dark macabre intention provoked him appearing in the most unlikely and unexpected as possible. After numerous misadventures got to have her mercy but she refused to deflower physical contact going so far as to use a piece of chastity were futile insistence thousand with a single excuse. At bottom it was all a big charade because she used to dance sensually provocative and money and even had a lover who regularly appears out of nowhere.

Obviously the title of the film refers to carnal desire. It is dark in as they can blind any perception and can ruin any objective perspective. The loss of rationality and the pursuit of something intangible and harmful at all costs.

Probably one of the most notorious and interesting is the use of two actresses for the role. This scheme aims to reflect two disparate personalities into one person. On one side is an elegant woman, quiet and refined and the other shows a woman mischievous, sensual and carefree, the choice of nationality is not trivial: French and English respectively. We had to make the public see that there is a universe within each house where sometimes forces are opposite and irreconcilable.

Although it is likely that the decision to vary between two characters is more the product of chance or some boot without premeditation and all around are unnecessary hypotheses originated.

This was the last film directed by Luis Buñuel and from my perspective is one of the most entertaining and dynamic. In the course of the plot happen a lot of absurd situations that reflect his penchant for surrealist themes, but unlike any of its predecessors, it is full of explicit humor.

aside his twisted subconscious, he filmed a movie in the fifties also cut comedian called "Big Skull" (the adjective "food" in its own terms) but the distance between the quality of both is infinite. In the case of "That obscure object of desire" how to present images and dialogue breaks abruptly creating a pleasant surprise for the viewer, in the case of that Mexican film, the humor is cheap predictable and does not differ from the comedians performed by Mexican gold film.

fate would think that his latest film faithfully reflected the majesty of his career and really could not be otherwise. One could assume that with age comes a deep reflection on what life is and that perception will be gradually painted black. Buñuel's film is darker as more years passed, left side a little irony and sarcasm to approach the most plain and obvious.
